Our colour service

Any of our products which have the option “choose my own” against them can be customized to your own colour or by using our on-line colour chart shown at the top of the website.  Or  you can send a colour of your own as a swatch with your order in the post.

How to select a colour;-

In the first instance you can refer to our on-line colour chart which may have a colour suitable for your needs as standard.  These colours can be quickly chosen by using drop down list against the product or you can simply select “choose my own” and then send in a samlple of the colour you need by email or post.

We also have a full colour chart which gives a larger range of standard colours available.  All you need to do with this is provide us with the code below the colour from this chart. If you would like a full colour chart emailed to you.  Please email us for a copy. (please note this is only available by email)

Both our on-line standard chart, and emailed chart are used as a guide only and can vary from computer to computer depending on screen quality. But we do get pretty close to the colour chosen for most people's requirements.  For an exact match to perfection please send us a swatch of your colour.

If you do not see a colour on our chart/s, which matches your needs or you need a very exact shade then all you need to do is select “choose my own” then type in that you are sending in a sample of your colour to be matched. We do not charge extra for the colour matching service. Simply then print out your order and send it to us with your colour sample.

When sending in samples of a colour to be matched please make sure it is not organic, i.e fresh flowers which can fade.   Suitable items would be a small piece of fabric or paper, a cutting from a card or magazine etc. If sending a sample please send it with a copy of your order. We only need a 4 cm x 4 cm sized piece.

If you have ordered a sample colour previously that you liked and want more the exact same shade you need to send one of the samples back with your new order for matching otherwise we can not guarantee an exact match by using the on-line colour chart alone. However if you sent in a swatch we usually keep this on file for 3 years and can refer to it again for you if your provide your original receipt/order number.

Our coloured pillar and votive candles are hand dipped and may have a slight colour variation from top to bottom on some shades used.  If you want colours for different products please be aware that tea lights for example may look darker than pillar candles due to wax density. If you want all your candles the same colour for an event we will do our very best to match perfectly all products chosen providing we get your order for all items at the same time, as we work on a batching process.

We have a policy in place which covers against a match being out more than one shade.  Or not exact match to a sample sent to us.

Please see below

please note this information is also emailed with each order prior to dispatch in the “after sales pack”.

For specific colour shades we emphasize on our website under the colour chart guide on-line that should you require very particular colour/shades that you send in a sample of your colour to be matched with your order.  This service is free and avoids disappointment in most cases.

Our on-line colour chart/s are a guide only which can vary from computer to computer depending on screen quality. (If you sent a swatch and you feel it has not been matched please also follow the instructions as below).

As all orders for colours are generally custom/made to order items they do not normally qualify for a refund or return unless actually faulty which or the candles are a different colour from what was ordered by more than one shade. Or does not match a swatch used. Please also note the following common problems:-

1) Paler colours which are scented are sometimes affected by the scent and may be dis-coloured slightly depending on the scent used but we will try to get as close to the colour chosen as possible for you.

2) Swatch matching will be done as close as possible, if your swatch was iridescent, pearlised or multi toned etc we will match to the predominant colour in it only.  We state at time of your order that we require a basic minimum of 4 cm x 4 cm of solid colour in a non organic material such as paper. If this was not received we will do our best to match to as close as we can get for you.

3) Candles left in the light can be affected by UVA, we advise that candles are kept in a cool dark place until ready to use to maintain colour quality.

4) If you are comparing your candle to a previous order already received and your new order is a different shade in colour then please note that UVA light, environmental changes can and do change your candles over time, candles being the nature of wax, therefore the new batch might well be different but will change also over time.

5) If you have ordered a sample colour previously that you liked and want more the exact same shade you need to send one of the samples back with your new order for matching otherwise we can not guarantee an exact match by using the on-line colour chart/s alone. We can however use a swatch you sent which is kept on file for 3 years if you can provide your previous invoice number.

We have nothing but excellent feedback on our unique colouring service and in most cases our customers are pleased with the result and can get some very  unusual shades of candles to their requirements making your candles unique to you and your choices.
